Manchester Big Day Out

Families in Manchester had an exciting day trip to RHS Bridgwater, taking the coach to the National Trust venue from the Wythenshawe Children’s Centres. During the day they enjoyed a wide range of activities such as:

·      walking in the woods, exploring the parklands and enjoying the variety of flowers/plants

·      a picnic and playing together in the children’s playground

·      nature-themed activities – e.g. planting

·      the Blue Peter themed educational garden

·      goodie bags (e.g. refillable water bottles to help the environment, seeds to plant, recipes, nature themed colouring activities)

·      arts and crafts and competitions

·      the feeling of space and freedom the children had to explore the wonderful grounds.

Southend – Big Day Out

 At this special pirate-themed day families in Southend enjoyed:

 ·      a walk to the end of Southend pier – the longest in the country

·      a train ride back

·      making family pirate flags

·      a pirate themed story telling session

·      prizes for the best dressed pirates

·      goodie bags (e.g. water bottles and snacks for the long walk)

·      activities and resources to promote good communication

·      a tasty meal together at a local café

·      … and ice cream!
